Sophisticated Black and White...

Linda and Philip married at Hollins Hall and Linda was really keen on Black and White pictures. This really did give the album a timeless, classy feel. See what you think by viewing the album below.

Anarchy on the radio!

So I was in Mark Pearson's studio last night giving the new Elinchrom Octa a thorough workout. This is a light the size of a small house that you can literally jump inside and sleep in. There's room inside for two cars and a conservatory. The model was Oshione Ekpah, an extra on just about every tv show you care to mention. The hairdresser and stylist was Andreas Constantinou, member of the British Hairdressing Team. Camera was the new full frame Nikon D3 and 105 VR lens and the real star of the evening was Oshione's amazing wardrobe. Some girls merely buy more clothes than they can wear in a lifetime and then, there's Oshione. She arrived in a transit van full of stuff. Entertainment that night was provided by the legendary Guy Harris on Real Radio. it was his last show and he was seeing it out in style with a bunch of regular listeners joining him in the studio. We phoned him up at one point and Guy threw us on air and led us a merry old dance. Very funny stuff... We all left the studio at around 4.15am, exhausted but hugely entertained. You'll be missed Guy. Hope to hear you on the radio soon. Check his link on the right hand side of this blog. Here are a couple of shots of Guy Harris taken for promoting his radio show. (Oh and the shots of Oshione will be posted soon)

James and Michael

James and Michael married at Weetwood Hall in Leeds and now have a fabulous Graphi book of the day. I always have fun with our mini studio set up which we use to capture quality pictures of the guests doing whatever they want to do to capture the attention of the camera! The great thing is that the couple are never aware of what's happened until they get to see the pictures. Thanks for your kind words guys..."You provided an excellent service, spending a long time with us, not just throughout the day but beforehand. Our wedding guests still remark how long you were there on the day and that you made them all feel relaxed when taking the pictures. It goes without saying that the quality of the pictures and the book is superb; the profile shots are outstanding and the quality, layout and style of the book will be treasured. It is the perfect way - as well as our memories - to be reminded of the best day of our life thus far...James and Michael

Diane and Gary

What a wonderful couple. Full of life and laughter and what a tale they can tell. Can't wait for the best man's speech in December! Thanks for being my models to test out the new Elinchrom Octa. A one light wonder.

Jo and Kevin at Allerton Castle

I love Allerton Castle. I love it because it's full of character, because it's small enough to make brides feel like it's their own and I love it because it makes you excited to be there. The snooker room, the dining area, the water garden, the location in North Yorkshire, it's all so full of drama. For those of nervous disposition though, do beware that there is a Ghost. In fact some say that the ghosts of several family members walk the halls at night. Spend your wedding night in the bridal suite and maybe you can find out for yourself! Jo and Kevin were absolutely lovely and I wish them all the happiness in the world in their future together. Here are some of the highlights of their big day.

It's supposed to be the quiet season!

I love it when I'm busy. Currently I'm working on 4 Graphistudio designs. Can't recommend this company highly enough. The books are consistantly good quality and I keep promising myself I'll try other companys' products, but when you're happy and the quality's so good, where's the motivation? I have added some amazing books by Jorgenson to the range though. These books are made in Australia and really are amazing. I'll be exhibiting them at the next wedding fair. I'm also working on extending the range of services we provide, including Trash the Dress, Intimate Portraits and Bridal sessions. Details coming soon. I was also asked this week to create a wedding invite for Sue and Gareth who are getting married next year. They wanted dafodills on the card. Of course I told them it would be no problem so off I went to see Diane at Leaf, my favourite Florist on Harrogate Road, Rawdon. I had to rearrange the shop display a little to get the shot and you can see the result below. Cost, no charge of course cos I sneakily added my logo on the back of the card. The Brides happy, I'm happy and Diane at Leaf had another picture of her wonderful flowers. Lovely.

Maverick Model Shoot

What a fun day in Manchester. Shooting model cards and having a laugh just wandering around the streets with the girls and guys from model agency Maverick. At the end of the day the light was fading fast and it was biterly cold but we couldn't resist running into the fountains at Piccadilly Gardens. I didn't have my Nikon D3 with me which I can rely on being completely weather proof, but my D200 came out of the fountain experience completely unscathed. Unfortunately my Timbalands were completely ruined! Have a look at the pictures below.
